Faith Formation

For several years, we have been asked if we can have a catechism class for the children who are too young for the preparation for First Holy Communion; and for those, having received the sacrament, are again too young for Confirmation.

This is our response: Faith Formation 101 (aka Catechism for kids and young adults – from 4 to teens!!) 

Schaapskooi, 4:00-4:55, every first Saturday of each month (9-10 sessions)

We will touch on the basic fundamentals of our faith in ways that even kids from about 4 years of age can understand. We will tackle one topic at a time – for example, the Cross, the Mass, the Blessed Virgin, the saints, Advent, Lent, Easter.  After the introduction of the topic, we hope to divide into smaller groups, adjusting the discussion or the activity based on their age or perception level.

The sessions will include doing some crafts, writing prayers and singing songs of praise. We may even play a game or two!

It will be informative as well as interactive because “our thoughts and action shape our faith, and God calls us to live it”.
